Husband-wife duo Jeromy and Jennifer Deibler remind us of Jesus’ unconditional love for us in the midst of trials and tribulations.
Worship band FFH is familiar with life’s challenges. Led by husband-wife duo Jeromy and Jennifer Deibler, the group has experienced highs including selling more than two million albums, landing several number one hits, and receiving numerous Dove awards, but they have also experienced lows. In 2009, Jeromy was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, and in 2010, they lost their home and most of their possessions in the great Nashville flood.
Though trials and adversity have struck the Deiblers, they have always clung to their faith and hope in Jesus through it all. Their authenticity and transparency has enabled them to record award-winning music, and their 14th studio album, The Way We Worship, is a reflection of their attempt to re-establish normalcy in their lives.
“Most of our records have been strategically planned and written,” says Jennifer. “This one, however, seemed to almost record itself. I think it happened that way because this music comes so naturally to us and our family.”
The album was initially inspired by Jennifer’s nightly bedtime ritual with their children. As Jeromy recalls, “We’d tuck them in together, then I’d slip out of the room as she quietly sang the same few songs night after night. A few years ago, Jennifer had the idea to record some of those songs for the kids to remember when they got older.”
Through it all, the Deiblers have remained thankful for God’s provision in their lives, and for each other. “It really is the way we worship,” Jennifer says.
This week’s free music download is the fourth track off of The Way We Worship, “First Love.” In honor of this week’s Valentine’s Day holiday, it’s a poignant reminder to turn to Jesus as the lover of our souls—and, as Jeromy says, in thanks for the relational gift of marriage.
“I’m more thankful now than ever for God’s goodness and provision for me—especially for the gift of such an amazing wife,” Jeromy says. “Jennifer is truly the most lovely person I know. And I get to hang out with her every day! That’s an ongoing God moment.”
