Free Music Monday—Week 4!

Download StorySide:B’s newest Christmas song “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel”

This past summer band mates Lucio Rubino and Preston Pohl announced the reformation of their band StorySide:B. The group rode a wave of success during the mid-2000s behind such hits as “Be Still,” “Miracle,” and “More To This Life.”

StorySide:B faced difficult challenges when, in 2009, bassist Ron McClelland collapsed and died while playing basketball. Three weeks later, the band’s manager David Lipscomb lost his battle with cancer. The sad series of events derailed the band, leaving the remaining members to go their separate ways.

Earlier this year, however, Lu and Preston decided it was time to create music together again. Growing from the challenges and successes of the past and embracing a vibrant musical future, Lu and Preston as StorySide:B, carry the same positive message their fans came to love and expect.

In particular this Christmas song, “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel,” is significant to Lucio: “Having struggled with addiction, this song resonates with me in a variety of ways. Not only rejoicing in the saving love of our God, but also redemption and deliverance from sin. This song reminds me that it is possible for people to change. I hold fast to this knowledge and I’m strengthened by it. I am a changed man, and have an easier time forgiving those who have trespassed against me. It is in this moment that I am still and can fully know the love of God.”
